Oré mi Tote Bag - Àpò [V1]

Àpò [Ah-poh] means bag in Yoruba, these branded tote bags are made using 100% organic cotton and water based ink. This lightweight fabric folds away nicely, ready to use conveniently for any occasion.

The Tote bag dimensions are 400mm x 400mm with 55cm straps [full loop length]. 

The the tote bag has our main brand logo & brand description on the front of the bag. The back of the tote bag has our secondary brand logo & brand description on the back.

DESIGN STORY

Creating a bag that was environmentally friendly was important to us, so I decided to use 100% organic cotton, as it is less harmful to the environment than normal cotton. 

I also wanted to make a tote that included both of our logos, but especially our secondary logo. This comes from the last gift my grandmother [who was a fellow entrepreneur] gave to me from her shop before she passed away. The item was a wrapper, which is a piece of printed or hand dyed material you wrap round your waist instead of wearing trousers or a skirt in Nigeria. It can also be used to carry a baby on your back etc. Grandparents love us so unconditionally and it was important for me to pay tribute to a women who taught me so much and has inspired me to keep sharing my culture. 

OUR COMMITMENT

Each time an Oré mi product is purchased 2.5% of the profits is given to a mental health charity focused on supporting black/brown people e.g. Black Minds Matter.

All of our products are wrapped using recyclable packaging.
